8 Adventures to try in June
It’s hard to believe the year is half over! June! It’s June! I won’t do the old person thing and tell you all that time goes so fast, that’s a lie, I’m totally going to tell you that time goes so freaking fast! Get on with your adventures before it’s too late! Hurry! Run, don’t walk!
But also, just try something new. Try a new adventure. The reason we share these 8 adventures to try is to get you out of the every day routines that suck that time right out of your life. If time is going to fly, then why not fill it up with fun adventures with more stories to tell.
Backpacking - Now this isn’t for everyone, but if you have ever had any interest in backpacking, now is the time! There are lots of ways to make this happen. Check out your local outdoor store for classes and trips. You can rent gear and go on your own. The point is to commit.
SUP - It’s summer and time to hit the water. If stand up paddle boarding isn’t your thing, rent a kayak or canoe, maybe even just do a paddle (peddle?) boat around your local lake. The point is to get on the water and cool off. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
Trampoline park - Most cities have these and a lot of them have adult nights! Check your local park to see when it’s scheduled or make it a family affair and take the kids. They will love bouncing around with you!
Adventure course - This month the Phoenix outpost headed to Flagstaff and had a blast in the trees! You can too. Google “adventure course near me” and find the closest one. If you don’t have one close, create your own! Go to the local park and map out your course, invite some friends, and have fun!
Write a letter to a friend - That’s right! An old fashioned letter. Just grab any ol piece of paper, or buy some fun stationary, and craft a letter to a friend you haven’t seen in a while. They will love getting the mail, and you will love the process.
Social media bread - Go one day without any social media: or super challenge it with a whole week!
Read a book - Slow down and check out some great Summer reading lists. Pick one and set a goal to finish it by a certain date. It can be hard to make time to read. We are all busy with work and family, but you will be glad you did this for you. Sit pool side - This is all about your health! Vitamin D is an essential to strong bones and calcium absorption. So you’re not just working on a tan, you are improving your health! Don’t have a pool? Go to the community pool, buy a wading pool and put your feet in it, get creative!
